Rebound Therapy

This program is suitable for all ages.

Our Rebound Therapy program provides physical therapy through the use of trampoline and spring based apparatus. Rebound therapy was founded in 1972 by Eddy Anderson and has been a recognised therapy treatment in the UK for over 20 years. In 2010 Gymnastics NSW engaged the services of Eddy Anderson to assist in establishing the delivery of Rebound Therapy via gymnastics clubs throughout Australia. The Hunter Sports Centre is one of the few clubs currently able to provide qualified instructors for one on one classes or group based classes. Rebound Therapy is a trampoline based therapeutic exercise programs, predominantly for people with a disability.

The program is used to facilitate movement, promote balance, promote an increase or decrease in muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and exercise tolerance, and to improve communication skills in a fun and safe environment. This is the first program of its kind within Australia.

Classes

There are no regular week to week Rebound Therapy classes. We run this program by request for individuals or small groups. Please call the Centre for further information (02 4953 6366).
