Recreational Tramp & Tumbling

Trampoline 1.5hour - 5-9yrs

Trampoline Beginners is suitable for children aged 5yrs – 9yrs.

Classes are run: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4pm – 5.30pm

*This class will take place in the Trampoline Centre of Excellence

Participants will be taken through the fundamental skills on all four apparatus: trampoline, double mini trampoline, single mini trampoline and tumbling. They will learn skills in isolation first, before developing them into combinations and routines. Once all these foundations have been developed, participants will then be invited up to the next class. The skills covered in this class include basic aerial positions and twisting, landing positions, basic combinations of skills, basic pass construction, rolling, cartwheels, handstands, roundoffs and safe use of equipment. 

Pre-requisite: Meets the minimum age requirement (7yrs)

Competition: This is not a competition program but does lead to programs where competition will be offered.

Participants will be introduced to all Trampoline gymnastic apparatus which includes: Olympic trampoline, double mini trampoline, single mini trampoline and tumbling.

Our recreation trampoline program consists of 12 stages which take participants from a beginner who may have never done trampoline gymnastics before, to performing advanced trampoline skills. At the end of each term participants are assessed for progress and awarded a ribbon or medal as they move through each stage. No previous trampoline experience is required to participate in this program.

Please remember, everyone learns differently. We have no timeframe as to how long it will take someone to achieve the skills before we can confidently recommend them to the next Stage.

Trampoline
Intermediate Trampoline

Trampoline 1.5hour - 8-13yrs

Trampoline Intermediate is suitable for children aged 8-13yrs

Classes are run: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday  4.30pm – 6pm

*This class will take place in the Trampoline Centre of Excellence

Participants starting out in this class will be taken through the fundamental skills on all four apparatus: trampoline, double mini trampoline, single mini trampoline and tumbling. They will learn skills in isolation first, before developing them into combinations and routines. The skills they will first cover in this class include: basic aerial positions and twisting, landing positions, basic combinations of skills, basic pass construction, rolling, cartwheels, handstands, roundoffs and safe use of equipment. 

Once these foundations have been developed, they will then continue to develop their skills on each apparatus. Participants will then work on more complex pass construction and combinations, fundamental somersaults, putting somersaults into routines and sequences safely, as well as bridge skills, handsprings, flics and basic somersaults on tumbling. Once participants are deemed ready for more advanced skills, they will be invited up into our next class.

Pre-requisite: Meets minimum age requirement (10yrs) or achieved Stage 4 of our ‘Recreation Trampoline’ program or is transferring from a club or other gymsport and can demonstrate the competency required for this class.

Competition: This is not a competition program but does lead to programs where competition will be offered.

Recreation Advanced Trampoline 2hour - Suitable for children aged 13yrs+

Trampoline Advanced is suitable for children aged 13yrs plus

Classes are run: Wednesday & Saturday  4.30pm – 6pm

*This class will take place in the Trampoline Centre of Excellence

Participants starting out in this class will be taken through the fundamental skills on all four apparatus: trampoline, double mini trampoline, single mini trampoline and tumbling. They will learn skills in isolation first, before developing them into combinations and routines. The skills they will first cover in this class include: basic aerial positions and twisting, landing positions, basic combinations of skills, basic pass construction, rolling, cartwheels, handstands, roundoffs and safe use of equipment. 

Once these foundations have been developed, they will then continue to develop their skills on each apparatus. Participants will then work on more complex pass construction and combinations, fundamental somersaults, putting somersaults into routines and sequences safely, as well as bridge skills, handsprings, flics and basic somersaults on tumbling. Once participants are deemed ready for advanced skills and combinations, they will progress on to working on harder and more complex skills and combinations before putting them into routines and passes. Skills in this class may include further twisting somersaults, somersaults with more than one rotation, further somersaults in combination, half outs and additional application of these skills on double mini trampoline as well as whips, twisting somersaults, double somersaults and both 5 and 8 skills passes on tumbling. 

Pre-requisite: Meets minimum age requirement (13yrs) or achieved Stage 8 of our ‘Recreation Trampoline’ program or is transferring from a club or other gymsport and can demonstrate the competency required for this class.
