Gymnastics School Sport
Hunter Sports Centre offers schools the opportunity to take advantage of our world class facilities for both Gymnastics and Athletics. Located in the Stockland Glendale precinct, we are centrally located to most Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and lower Hunter schools.
Gymnastics
As a ‘Sporting Schools’ provider we are in high demand for our expert coaching and variety of programs. We offer school programs at the Centre for Pre-Schools, Primary Schools, High Schools, Home School, Special Education groups and Universities. We have 2 types of delivery options
- At the Centre (available between 12:30pm – 3:00pm)
- At your school (Primary schools only
Gymnastics at the Centre
Gymnastics is in high demand at the Centre all year round however terms 2 & 3 are our most popular periods. The earliest we are able to book a school in for a program is 11:30am as we run infant classes up to this time each morning. Gymnastics is made up of many different facets in which we can cater for.
- General gymnastics programs (over several weeks students learn the many and varied aspects of gymnastics)
- Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (As seen at the Olympics – Floor, Pommel, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar)
- Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (As seen at the Olympics – Floor, Vault, Beam and Uneven Bars)
- Trampoline Gymnastics (As seen at the Olympics but also including, mini-tramp, double mini-tramp and tumbling)
- FreeG (A variation of Parkour and Free Running but focused more on the skill development)
Schools book gymnastics for many reasons

Minimum participation number is 15 (10 students for special needs programs)
Program Cost
1hr (or less): $10.00 per student per week
1.5hrs: $14.50 per student per week
2hrs: $18.00 per student per week
Gymnastics at School
Catering specifically for Primary schools, our school gymnastics program is fantastic for Kindergarten, stage 1 and 2 students. We do cater for stage 3 students however recommend, where possible, to bring stage 3 students to the Centre as the engagement in the activities is much greater and the environment more suitable for the varied physical abilities of this age group.
Gymnastics at school preferably takes place in the school hall and or a shaded area protected by the weather. We provide all equipment necessary to conduct the class and only require a small space to store the equipment for the duration of the program. Often we utilise balls, hoops and ropes as well and request access to the school sports storeroom for this equipment however if that is not possible we can bring our own.
Program Cost
Gymnastics at school is charged per student per session however, if you are using Sporting Schools funding you will need to contact us directly to make sure we can provide a program within your budget. There is a minimum number of sessions that need to be run for us to be able to deliver to the school. The location of the school in relation to the Hunter Sports Centre may impact on this.
